An ultrasound of the heart looking at the heart valves and heart function.

This is a more specialized Echo, which focuses on the function and anatomy of the heart valves. This test is performed in the hospital setting. It does require light sedation, so you will need a ride home following the test.

CAT Scan:

This test will be done to assess your anatomy for certain surgical procedures.

Preadmission Testing:

Once your surgery has been scheduled, the hospital will contact you to schedule a presurgery appointment. At this appointment, you will meet with an anesthesia team member. You will also have blood tests that are related to the surgery. You will receive additional instructions regarding the day of surgery and medications to take on the morning of the surgery. There is no special preparation for this appointment and it does not require fasting.
